Marsa Mubarak - Dugong House

Marsa Mubarak is an amazing spot for snorkeling and diving! The place isn’t crowded at all, and the marine life is just beautiful — you can easily see turtles, colorful corals, and lots of fish. The best thing is that it’s completely free, and you can reach it directly from the beach without paying for an expensive boat trip that usually stops at the same spot. The water is crystal clear and the atmosphere is peaceful — definitely one of the best hidden gems in Marsa Alam

An Unforgettable Experience with Gentle Giants! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Diving in Marsa Mubarak was absolutely magical! The highlight was definitely swimming with the dugongs and sea turtles. They move with such grace and elegance. Knowing that the dugong is an endangered species made the moment even more special and precious. It’s a truly unique experience that might not last forever. If you get the chance to dive here, don't hesitate. It’s a memory I will cherish forever.

I understand the fascination of seeing turtles and a dudong, but this is very bad. Way too many tourists and guides who do not properly handle them. The coast guard should limit the number of boats that can visit the bay at the same time (by a lot!) and monitor that all tourist groups respect the animals and keep their distance. The same goes for the hotels which need to be much stricter with their guest groups and reduce the number of people per group. Everybody who cares about the animals should consider doing something else entirely, don't be part of this madness.

Very nice to spot the Dugong and big Turtles! While snorkeling! For the rest there is not too much to see. Next to the pier lies a small reef which had some nice fishes but that is all we encountered. Could be on the other side?! We were here walking from Fayrouz around the corner at 6.30 AM. An almost empty bay! THAT is the time recommendable! We see the boats from Port Ghalib going there ALL DAY. NOT RECOMMENDABLE! How do you spot the Dugong? A bit of luck...and closely watch the surface: it's a mammal and while eating the seagrass it will go up every 30-40 seconds. While we were there it was in the shallows as we did not expect (3 meters)

It’s a great place to spot a dugong Never while diving but snorkelling! It takes sometimes few hours to find it but they come here to eat grass that grows on the shallow sea bottom. There are many turtles here too! Like dozens of them. Sometimes you can spot other fishes as well.
