Abu Dabbab is a sheltered beach-entry bay 30 minutes north of Marsa Alam, famous for resident green sea turtles, seagrass meadows, and one of the most reliable dugong (sea cow) sightings in the Red Sea.

Abu Dabbab Bay sits 30 minutes north of Marsa Alam and is one of the few places in the world where you can routinely meet wild dugongs alongside several resident green turtles. This is a beach-entry shore diving day, not a boat trip: the guide briefs you on the sand, you walk in from the beach, and both reef arms plus the seagrass area are reachable from shore. The bay is calm, shallow (5-14m), and ideal for relaxed dives focused on marine life rather than depth or current. We run two guided shore dives here with a long surface break for snacks and refreshments, plus space and time to photograph turtles browsing the seagrass meadows below. Water is 24-29C year-round and visibility commonly 15-25 m. Suitable for all certified divers; non-divers can join the snorkeling alternative.

Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a wide-angle. The shallow turquoise water is photo paradise.
