About this trip

Marsa Mubarak is a wide, sheltered bay just north of Port Ghalib known for its resident dugongs and green turtles. Conditions are calm and shallow, making it ideal for snorkelers from beginners to experienced. We provide masks, snorkels, fins, and a guide who knows where the animals tend to feed at each tide. Most groups see at least one turtle; many also encounter a dugong.

Mid-winter visit, dugong showed up after 10 minutes. The seagrass meadows are stunning.

Dugong House lives up to the name. We saw two dugongs in the same dive and a green turtle on the safety stop.

Bring a wide-angle lens. The dugong stayed with us for 8 minutes and the photo opportunities were endless.
